Why should we be grateful for doing our duty?

  • I don't know when it started
  • The trend of "praise" and "gratitude" in the group is growing
    • Some are deeply moved by teachers who carefully correct homework
    • Some see doctors who do not overly treat them at the end of their lives as reborn
    • Some are grateful for the guidance of leaders in daily life

  • Teachers are role models who impart knowledge and education
  • Doctors show compassion and at least do no harm
  • Leaders mentor and enhance service capabilities and awareness
    • These are all part of the job, why should we be grateful?
  • On the surface
    • Our expectations for various professions to fulfill their duties are constantly increasing
  • In reality
    • Our tolerance for those who do not fulfill their duties is forced to increase repeatedly
  • Completing one's duties will be praised and applauded
    • Perhaps this indicates that the weight of this "duty" is a bit heavy
    • Perhaps it shows that we have tacitly accepted not fulfilling our duties
  • If others need to be grateful to us for doing our job
    • Then isn't gratitude too cheap and hypocritical?
