- Starting anything is difficult, and this is my first time posting on XLOG. I still feel nervous.
- Many blogs focus on attracting attention, but my XLOG is just for recording my own experiences.
- I am using a knowledge management software called Obsidian, which claims to "Sharpen your thinking".
- Let's start sharing good things and discussing doubts together from here.
What is Obsidian?#
- It is a file manager, similar to Windows Explorer, that can organize any file.
- It is a note-taking software, similar to OnoNote or Notion, that can be used for quick notes or for research.
- It is an operating system, similar to XP or Win7 or Win10, that can be customized with various plugins.
- It is an open platform, like a central square in a city, where you can dance or relax.
How to get Obsidian?#
- First, you can download it from the Obsidian official website, but the speed may be slow.
- Second, you can search and download Obsidian from Github, but the speed may still be slow without acceleration.
- Third, you can download it from the Obsidian Chinese forum announcement, which is faster.
How to install plugins?#
- First, you can install plugins online. With internet permission, open settings, go to third-party plugins, disable safe mode, browse, find the desired plugin, and install it.
- Second, you can install plugins manually. Search and download the desired plugin from the internet, place it in the plugins folder under the hidden library folder (.obsidian), and open the plugin after reloading.
What plugins am I currently using?#
- Enhanced Editing
- Advanced Slides: Quickly create slideshows
- Dataview: Quickly aggregate data
- sync-to-xlog: Blog publishing plugin
- Text expand: Using one of its features to quickly generate a table of contents
- Easy Typing: Also using one feature, double-clicking when typing Chinese punctuation automatically changes it to English punctuation.
Useful tips:#
- Obsidian supports various systems such as domestic Kirin system, Tongxin UOS, Windows, Linux, Android, etc.
- It even supports ARM64 architecture CPUs.
- All files recorded through Obsidian are stored locally to avoid cloud risks.
- All data is stored in Markdown format, widely used in the IT field, and can be opened even with a simple notepad.
